If you’re still seeing ABCmouse charges after canceling your subscription, there are a few common reasons this may happen. This article explains how to check your ABCmouse cancellation status, confirm whether your account is still active, and identify other possible active subscriptions (such as additional ABCmouse accounts, app store billing, or add-ons like the Assessment Center or Adventure Academy). Check for a Cancellation Confirmation
When your ABCmouse subscription is successfully canceled, a cancellation confirmation email is automatically sent to the email address associated with your account.
- Search your email inbox (and spam/junk folders) for a cancellation confirmation email
- If you do not see a confirmation email in that account, search again in any other email accounts you (or another family member) may have used to open an account. It is fairly common that customers forget which email was associated with their account.
- If you cannot find a confirmation email in any of your email accounts, your ABCmouse subscription may still be active.
- If you do find a cancellation confirmation and have been billed since then, it likely means that you had more than one active subscription that was not cancelled when you canceled that ABCmouse account.
- If you have records of your billing, you might want to check if the amount billed changed after the cancellation. For example, you may have been regularly billed $84.99 but now you are being billed $45 (because the Assessment Center's $39.99 charge was cancelled but $45 for ABCmouse was left active).
Verify Your Subscription Status
You can confirm your account status at any time by logging into your ABCmouse program and going to the Parent Section.
Keep in mind, this will confirm the status of your account associated with the email address you used to log in; it would not be able to tell you if you have another subscription associated with a different email.
- Select the Profile/Avatar icon at the top left of your screen.
- Select Settings.
- Select Manage My Account.
- Scroll down to the Membership Details section and see if you have any Active subscriptions listed.
- Click on any subscription to see if it shows an Upcoming Charge, which would confirm it is still billing.
If an Upcoming Charge is listed:
- Your account is still active
- You will continue to be billed
- To stop future charges, follow these cancellation steps.
If you see “Your Subscription Is About to Cancel” or similar message:
- Your cancellation of this account was successful (there may still be another one active)
- Access for this account will continue until the end of the billing period
Common Reasons You May Still See Charges
Even if one ABCmouse account was canceled, charges may continue for other reasons:
You have multiple ABCmouse accounts
- You may have more than one ABCmouse under different email addresses
- Another adult (such as a spouse or caregiver) may have created a separate account
- Occasionally someone has difficulty initially subscribing and can't log in to ABCmouse and thinks they need to re-do the subscription process, creating two accounts
You subscribed to different Age of Learning products related to ABCmouse
You may have activated a subscription to a different, related product when signing up for ABCmouse. The most common additional programs are:
- Assessment Center (an optional add-on subscription)
- Adventure Academy (our program for older kids)
You did not complete the ABCmouse cancellation
- Exiting the cancellation flow before final confirmation can leave your subscription active.
- Exiting a customer care chat before cancellation confirmation can leave your subscription active.
- A successful cancellation will always send an email confirmation to the email address attached to your subscription. Chat conversations also allow you to save or email a transcript to yourself as additional confirmation.
Subscriptions Through App Stores
If you signed up through an app store or through the app downloaded from an app store, your subscription and billing information will be managed by the app store (even if you see Age of Learning or ABCmouse on your billing statement). You may want to check
- Apple App Store
- Google Play Store
- Amazon Appstore
- Samsung Galaxy App Store
To stop billing:
- Open the app store where you subscribed
- Locate your subscriptions
- Cancel your ABCmouse subscription directly through that platform
Still Need Help?
If you’re unable to locate the charge or confirm your account status:
- Click the Help icon in the lower-right corner of the screen to start a customer care chat.
- Our support team can help identify active accounts or subscriptions and help you cancel any account you opened with us (accounts managed by an app store will still need to be cancelled there).
