One thing that most kids like to do first in ABCmouse is to add their name to the program instead of the default "Friend" profile that you'll see in the upper-left.
ABCmouse allows parents to create up to three child profiles under a single subscription. Adding your child's name and birth date helps ABCmouse provide personalized learning activities and lessons based on their age. You won't need to update their age each year because ABCmouse uses their birth year.
For ESA or ClassWallet orders, each ESA ClassWallet code for ABCmouse grants access for one child profile. If additional child profiles are needed, please place another order using a different email address, as we are unable to add additional child profiles.
Using ABCmouse Classic instead? Click here!
-
Click on the profile icon in the upper-left corner.
- Select +Add on the Who's Playing? menu.
- If prompted, enter your birth year (e.g., 1995) to proceed.
-
On the Add Child screen, enter your child's first name, select the month and year for their birthday, and click Done to save the child's birthday.
Note: Entering the correct birth date helps the program determine activity recommendations based on age (and knowing the birthday helps the program stay updated as the child grows). To optimize your child's Learning Path levels for Reading and Math, be sure to set a grade level for each Learning Path, as well.
- Once completed you see all child profiles and you can select the one you want continue editing.
- There is a sound icon to the right of the Child's Name field. Click the icon if you want to hear how your child's name will be pronounced in the program.
Please note: ABCmouse is trained to pronounce a wide range of names but may not be able to pronounce all names or match your child's preferred name pronunciation. We are not able to update name pronunciations in the program at this time.
- You will see a default/placeholder profile icon for your child at this point (highlighted below). Please note that this icon cannot be changed from the Settings section. Your child will need to go to the My World section of ABCmouse to build their own Avatar.
- Press Save to complete the process of adding a child profile to your ABCmouse account.
Your new child profile is now added and ready to use! Now's a great time to create an Avatar for this new child profile.
