In ABCmouse, you can easily change the grade level settings for one or both Learning Paths (Reading and Math) at any time from within the Learning Path or through the Parent Settings.

Keep in mind, however, that when you change the grade level, it resets the Learning Paths and your child may need to repeat activities, so we recommend that you check and change the Learning Path grade levels for your child before they get started. But don't worry if you need to come back and adjust them later.

Steps to change grade levels from the Learning Path
- Select the My Learning Path tile located at the bottom of homepage of the app (highlighted in screenshot below) to get started.
- Select the Settings button in the upper-right corner of the My Learning Paths screen.
- You will now be on the Learning Path Settings screen.
- Select the drop-down menu and choose a grade level for Reading and Math. You can select different grade levels for each subject. Your choice should reflect what you think your child's current skill level is in each subject rather than simply their grade in school. Many children are more advanced in one subject than the other, so having independent grade level controls allows for a more personalized and effective learning experience that honors the whole child.
- You will be asked to confirm you want to change grade levels because doing so will reset any activities your child has completed on the Learning Paths. Select OK to confirm.
Steps to change grade levels from the Parent Settings

Reading and Math grade levels are specific to each child profile, so make sure you are on the right profile at the top of Settings.
If you are using the ABCmouse app, clicking the Child Profile icon will open a new Edit Child screen where you can add or change reading and math grade levels for that child. If you are using ABCmouse on the web, you should see the Edit Child section displayed for the profile that's currently active on the Settings screen. Click a different profile icon if you need to change the Learning Path levels for a different child.
Enter the Reading Grade Level and Math Grade Level that best reflect your child's abilities.
Grade levels do not need to be their actual grade and can be different for each subject if you child is more comfortable or skilled in one subject compared to the other.
That's all there is to changing the Reading and Math Learning Paths in ABCmouse for more personalized learning experiences that build your child's confidence and school readiness. Don't hesitate to go back and tweak the settings to get it just right if needed.
