If you’re a new ABCmouse user, you may notice the default profile name is set to “Friend.” Updating the profile name to your child’s name helps personalize their experience and ensures their learning progress is tracked correctly if you have multiple children using the account. This guide walks you through how to change the “Friend” profile name, update child profiles, and customize your child’s avatar in just a few simple steps.
Open Profile Settings
From the home screen, open the profile menu:
- Click the “Friend” icon in the upper-left corner
Next, open Settings:
- In the side panel, click Settings at the bottom
Select the Default Profile
Once you are in Settings:
- Under Edit Child Profiles, click the “Friend” profile icon
Update Your Child’s Name
On the Edit Child screen:
- Tap the name field
- Enter your child’s name
- Click Save
Your child’s name will now appear in place of “Friend.”
