If you select the Tutoring option during ABCmouse sign-up, this one-time fee delivers personalized, one-on-one academic assessment support and feedback that's tailored to your child’s learning needs and skills. Leveraging the diagnostic tools available in our Assessment Center, a certified early childhood learning tutor with years of experience will guide your child through targeted Assessment Center exercises to evaluate their skills, pinpoint any gaps in their learning, and provide you with a detailed report with results, feedback, and actionable recommendations for targeted ABCmouse activities in addition to offline learning enhancements.
By combining assessment insights with supportive real-time guidance, the tutoring session targets specific gaps, builds on strengths, and helps your child make meaningful progress faster. This tutoring option is currently available during signup for only one session but follow-up sessions are available on request.

About Tutoring Sessions
What Is Assessment Tutoring?
A live tutoring session can now be purchased during ABCmouse signup if you have selected the Assessment Center add-on. This Zoom-based 30-minute session with an expert tutor who is a certified early childhood educator can be conveniently scheduled in our new Tutoring Center. Your tutor will help your child complete the most appropriate skills assessments, observe how they learn and where they struggle, and give you personalized, actionable feedback on their results in a detailed written report. It's a smart way to maximize the educational value of ABCmouse and Assessment Center and turbo-charge your child's path to academic success.
Who is this for?
The tutoring is for children ages 4–8 (pre-K through 2nd grade), and is only offered to parents who have subscribed to the ABCmouse Assessment Center. The tutoring add-on is for those parents who want to ensure that their child has a focused academic plan and is in the best position to maximize their learning potential with ABCmouse.
What happens during a Tutoring session?
The tutor you select will guide your child through 2–4 level-appropriate skill assessments (usually starting with Reading). They'll watch how your child works through problems in real time, not just whether they get the right answer. At the end, the tutor will share some initial observations in a detailed report outlining their strengths, skill gaps, and what to focus on next in ABCmouse.
How is this different from using the Assessment Center on my own?
The Assessment Center gives you a powerful tool to evaluate your child's skills and highlight needs. Adding a tutoring session gives you the peace of mind to know that an expert early childhood educator is on your team, ensuring that you get the right assessment data, explaining what it means, showing you where the gaps are, and telling you specifically how to address them both online and offline.
How to Access the Tutoring Center
You can access the Tutoring Center in two ways: from the Manage My Account section within ABCmouse Settings or from the Tutoring welcome email you will be sent after you sign up.
Option 1: Open ABCmouse, select the Profile/Avatar icon, select Settings, and then select Manage My Account. Scroll down to the Tutoring section and select Schedule Your Next Session.
Option 2: Open the Tutoring Welcome email that was sent to the email address you used to sign up. Under Schedule your session click the big red Click Here button to get started.
Note: If you have already clicked the Schedule Your Next Session link within the Manage My Account section of ABCmouse, the scheduling link in the email will be deactivated.
Booking a Session
From your Tutoring Center, select the Book Sessions tab. You will see profiles of the tutors available to you, along with ratings and experience.
To select a Tutor, click the green Booking available button on their profile.
Select a Date from the calendar and a Time from the available time slots on the right.
Enter your name and the email address associated with your ABCmouse account, then click Schedule Event.
A confirmation screen that says "You are scheduled" will confirm details of your scheduled tutoring session, and you'll also receive an email with the same booking details.
You can view and manage your scheduled tutoring session under My Sessions.
Tutor Session Report and Feedback
Once your child's tutoring session is complete, you will receive an detailed Tutor Session Report (PDF) sent to your email. You can also find the report in your Tutoring Center, under the Tutor Feedback tab.
The email also gives you an opportunity to provide your own feedback about the tutoring session by clicking Add Session Feedback. You'll be given a short survey to fill out - we'd love to hear from you!
Below is a sample Tutor Session Report to give you and idea of breadth, depth, and details you can expect after a single tutoring session with your child.
Cancelling and Rescheduling
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your scheduled session.
To Cancel:
Go to My Sessions, choose the scheduled session, and select Cancel.
Note: Cancelling cannot be undone! Be sure before you select Yes, Cancel.
Your session will now show as Cancelled
To Reschedule:
Go to My Sessions, choose your scheduled session and select Reschedule.
Note: Rescheduling will cancel your existing session! Be sure before you select Yes, Reschedule.
You will then be taken back to the Book Sessions page to book a new time with the same tutor.
Support
You can always get help by clicking on Contact Support from within the Tutoring Center. This is the best option, rather than reaching out for help within this Help Center. You will ultimately get the help you need either way, but we can more efficiently and effectively direct your questions and issues to the tutoring specialists if you reach out from the Tutoring Center.

FAQ
What are credits?
When you choose to purchase a tutoring session during ABCmouse signup, you will see 1 Credit in the Tutoring Center. A credit gives you the ability to book a Tutoring Session: one credit per Tutoring Session. Once you have booked your session, this will automatically revert to 00 Credits.
How many sessions do I get?
Your purchase entitles you to one Tutoring Session with an accredited Early Childhood Educator. This is a one-time purchase for a fixed price, not an ongoing subscription like the Assessment Center.
How do I buy more credits/sessions?
We are looking forward to expanding the option to buy multiple sessions in the near future. At this time, if you'd like to buy other session beyond the one purchased during signup, please click Contact Support within the Tutoring Customer Support, submit your request, and we'll be happy to help facilitate that for you.
How far out can I schedule a session?
You can schedule a session up to two months in advance.
I missed a session! What do I do?
Please reach out to Tutoring Customer Support and we'll be happy to help you schedule a new session.
What credentials do the tutors have?
All of our tutors are certified early childhood educators with Bachelor's degrees in elementary or secondary education, and teaching certificates in English or ESL.
