How to Pause Your ABCmouse Subscription

Pausing your ABCmouse monthly subscription allows you to temporarily stop billing while keeping your child’s progress, rewards, and profile data, so it’s easy to continue when you or your child is ready to resume. For most, it's a much better option than cancelling. 

This option is available for eligible monthly ABCmouse subscriptions billed directly through ABCmouse/Age of Learning  using a credit card, PayPal, or Apple Pay. You can pause your subscription for 1, 2, or 3 months and resume at any time, making it easy to take a break without canceling your subscription. Eligibility for Pausing

The pause option is available for ABCmouse subscriptions only if:

• You have a monthly ABCmouse subscription (not annual or semi-annual subscriptions, not Assessment Center)
• You are billed directly through Age of Learning/ABCmouse (not by one of the App Stores)
• You use a credit card, PayPal, or Apple Pay as your payment method 

Please note, the pause option is not available for:

• Annual ABCmouse plans
• ABCmouse subscriptions billed through third parties (such as app stores)
• Adventure Academy or any other add-ons

Steps to Pause Your Membership

1. Open the ABCmouse app and log in if needed.
   
   
    
2. Click on the Avatar/profile icon in the upper-left corner.
   
   
    
3. Click on Settings in the lower-left corner (you may be prompted to enter your birth year or password).
   
   
    
4. Select Manage My Account.
   
   
    
5. On the Membership Details screen, click Pause Membership.
   
   
    

6. Select how long you want to pause your membership:

   • 1 month
   • 2 months
   • 3 months

   Click Pause Membership to confirm your choice.
   
   
    

7. You will see a confirmation screen showing your pause details: the date your monthly subscription was set to renew (you've already paid for access up to this date and can continue to use ABCmouse as usual) and the date that your billing will resume. The time between those dates is the time you chose to pause your membership.
   
   

What Happens After You Pause

Once your membership is paused:

• You will not be charged for ABCmouse during the pause period
• Your child’s progress, tickets, and profiles are saved
• You will receive a confirmation email with your return date
• If you also have an Assessment Center subscription, that will not be paused
• Your ABCmouse subscription will automatically resume at the end of the selected period

Manage or Resume Your Subscription

You can manage your paused subscription at any time:

• Select Manage My Pause from the confirmation screen or your account settings

From there, you can:

• Select Resume Membership to reactivate immediately
• Select Stay Paused to continue your current pause

FAQs and Tips

When should I pause ABCmouse instead of canceling?
Pausing is a great option if you plan to return to ABCmouse soon and want to keep your child’s progress without interruption. Perhaps you'll be traveling? Child too busy? Temporary financial concerns?

Will I be charged during the pause?
You will not be billed while your ABCmouse subscription is paused. ABCmouse billing will resume automatically on the return date listed for you; make note of that so you aren't surprised when it does. Note that any other active subscriptions will continue billing as usual. 

Can I resume earlier than my selected date?
Yes. You can log in at any time and resume your membership immediately.

Will my child lose any progress?
All activities, tickets, progress, and profiles will be saved exactly as you left them so your child can pick right back up where they left off.
