Changing an Avatar in ABCmouse Classic

To change a child’s Avatar in ABCmouse Classic, go to the Parent Section, select Manage Profiles, and update the avatar through the customization menu.

How can we purchase or earn clothing items for the avatar?

The profile avatar is an animated character that can be customized with many different clothes and features. These items can be purchased in the Shopping Center or earned from completing lessons on the Learning Path.

If you’re interested in changing the image for an avatar, there are a few ways to do so. Steps will vary depending on whether the device you're using is a desktop or a mobile device.

How to edit the Avatar photo on desktop

1. Select the Avatar you would like to edit.
   • If you need to change users, select the name at the top to do so.
     
     
      
2. Select About Me.
   
   
   
    
3. Click Change My Avatar.
   
   
    
4. Select the Take a Picture button located on the lower left corner of the page.
   
   
    
5. A rectangular frame will appear over the avatar.
   
   
    
6. Click and move the corners of the frame to adjust its dimensions.
   
   
    
7. Select the red camera icon below the avatar to take the picture.
   
   
    
8. The picture will then appear as a thumbnail to the left of the avatar, similar to a Polaroid-style snapshot. Tap the thumbnail to set it as the avatar’s profile picture.
   
   
   
    
9. If you want to change the background, the option is at the top. 
   
   

How to edit the Avatar photo on mobile devices

If you are on the ABCmouse Classic app and cannot get access to a computer, you can choose a stock photo from our collection as the Avatar photo instead.

1. Select the Avatar you would like to edit.
   • If you need to change users, select the name at the top to do so.
     
     
      
2. Select the About Me tab.
   
   
    
3. Select the My Work icon.
   
   
   
    
4. In the My Avatar Pictures area, select any of the images you would like for your new avatar photo.
   
   
    
5. On the View Picture menu for the photo, select the Avatar icon.
   
   
    
6. Tap the "Yes" button to confirm your avatar photo selection.
   
   
    
7. Your avatar will now display an updated image.
