ABCmouse offers two Learning Paths—one for Reading and one for Math. Having separate Learning Paths helps children focus on skills in each subject and allows parents to set different grade levels based on their child’s needs.

How to Get Started
- Open the ABCmouse app.
- Select the My Learning Path tile at the bottom of the home screen.
-
Choose either the Reading Learning Path or the Math Learning Path to begin.
How to Check or Change Your Learning Path Settings
- On the My Learning Paths screen, tap the Settings button (top-right).
-
From the drop-down menus, choose a grade level for Reading and Math.
- Grade levels can be set independently, so you can match your child’s skill level in each subject. Many children are more advanced in one subject than the other, so having independent grade level controls allows for a more personalized and effective learning experience that honors the whole child.
- You will be asked to confirm you want to change grade levels because doing so will reset any activities your child has completed on the Learning Paths. Select OK to confirm.
Learning Paths Overview
- Learning Path activities are determined by the grade levels you select for your child in Reading and Math.
- Activities cover grade level curricula in a sequence selected by our team of curriculum experts at Age of Learning.
- Children advance through lesson units, which include themed activities designed to build essential skills for their grade level in the subject, such as areas like Make Ten strategies and Mental Math on the Math Learning Path for 2nd Grade.
- Learning Path progress is shown by your child's Avatar moving along the path, with check-mark flags representing completed activities, through different biomes, such as the jungle.
- The treasure chest at the end of each lesson on the path gradually unlocks as your child makes progress. When they reach the last spot, they should click on the treasure chest open it up and reveal the reward for their good work.
Can You Reset Learning Path Levels or Replay Activities?
As shown above, you can change the Learning Paths and set them to a different grade level if the one your child is on is either too hard or too easy.
You cannot, however, reset a Learning Path so that your child goes back to the beginning of the same grade level, or go back on the Learning Path to replay any particular activity or activities.
If you think your child needs more practice in a certain curriculum area that they have recently moved past, you can find the same or similar activities by going to the Classroom area of ABCmouse. Each Classroom subject is organized by domains (for example, Counting, Addition, Shapes, Multiplication, and Measurement in Math) to help you find what you're looking for, and there is an "All Activities" section that you can browse through if you don't see the category you're looking for.
