The steps to turn accessibility features on/off will vary depending on the device you’re using to access ABCmouse.
iPhone or iPad
Please note that accessibility features only work on iOS 14 and above.
To add a VoiceOver function on your iPhone or iPad, please follow the steps below:

Go to the Settings app on your device.

Scroll down to the Accessibility section.

Select the VoiceOver category.

Toggle the VoiceOver switch to the green side to turn it on.
Should you decide to turn VoiceOver off, follow the same steps as the above, but on the last step toggle the VoiceOver switch to the gray side to turn it off.
In addition to the above steps, you can also ask Siri to turn VoiceOver on or off instantly, or add it as a shortcut option.
When VoiceOver is active, your device will read out what is on your screen, and the way you or your child navigate will be slightly different and require you to know different types of touchscreen gestures.
VoiceOver Commands
- Tap once to select an item.
- Double-tap to activate a selected item.
- Swipe with three fingers to scroll.
- To use the Dock, slide one finger up from the bottom edge of the screen until you hear the second sound, then swipe down.

Android
To add a TalkBack function on your Android devices, please follow the steps below:
- Go to the Settings app on your device.
- Scroll down to the Accessibility section.
- Select the TalkBack category.
- Toggle the TalkBack switch to the green side to turn it on.
Should you decide to turn TalkBack off, follow the same steps as the above, but on the last step toggle the TalkBack switch to the gray side to turn it off.
