In ABCmouse, the Classroom is a central hub that’s modeled after an early elementary school classroom, where children can explore and engage with a wide variety of educational activities. And it's just one click away from the homepage, as shown here:
It is important to note that depending on how you are accessing ABCmouse, the Classroom view could be somewhat different than is shown here. The exact layout and contents of the Classroom is different on mobile devices, our web app, and the web browser view of ABCmouse. Here is the what the Classroom looks like on an iPad:
No matter how you access the Classroom, you will see a list of categories across the top of your screen, as well as a number of clickable items in the Classroom. By clicking on the categories and the items in the Classroom, you can access learning activities related to each item. Learn how to access the Classroom and what you can find there.
Change the Learning Path to Change the Difficulty of Classroom Activities
The ABCmouse Learning Path level that parents and caregivers select for their child generally determines the academic difficulty level that Classroom activities are set at.
There are 10 Learning Path levels, with two levels aligned with each grade level:
- Preschool, Level 1
- Preschool, Level 2
- Pre-K, Level 3
- Pre-K, Level 4
- Kindergarten, Level 5
- Kindergarten, Level 6
- First Grade, Level 7
- First Grade, Level 8
- Second Grade, Level 9
- Second Grade, Level 10
So, if your child's Learning Path is set to 3, when they click on activities from the Classroom they will be aligned with an early pre-K level curriculum and level of difficulty. Level 10, as seen in the screenshot above, would align with later second grade academic difficulty. Clicking on the Math tile on the wall or the Math table in the Classroom for a Level 10 Learning Path would take a child to these 2nd grade math activities. Learn more about the activities on each Learning Path level.
Keep in mind that many children are best suited to a Learning Path and Classroom level that is either above or below their actual level in school. Parents should do their best to select a level they think may be most appropriate and then monitor how difficult (or easy) the activities are and adjust the Learning Path and difficulty level as needed.

How to Switch Between Two Classroom Levels on the Web Version of ABCmouse
If you are using a web browser to access ABCmouse, you will have one other way to change your child's Classroom experience and the difficulty of activities. On the web, there are two different Classrooms: a Preschool - Kindergarten Classroom and a 1st - 2nd Grade Classroom. Your initial Classroom view will be based on the Learning Path level but you can click the arrow in the lower left corner to go from one Classroom to another to access activities aligned with either grade levels.
