In these unprecedented times, the need for digital educational solutions has increased dramatically. Age of Learning is maintaining its commitment to provide teachers across the country free access to our early learning products. Given the breadth of this program, it would be impossible to sign individually negotiated agreements with each of the tens of thousands of schools and school districts we serve across the United States and around the world.
Consistent with our ongoing effort to address the need for our freely available services and to continue providing free access to schools across the country, we have adopted the following standardized set of privacy safeguards for all schools and districts:
- We collect student data only as needed. We design all our products to collect as little personally identifiable data as possible, and to collect data only for the purposes of delivering and improving effective learning experiences to students. The only personally identifiable information we collect from students within our ABCmouse free teacher accounts is their first name.
- Our services are backed by our Child Safe guarantee. We don’t include any pop-up ads or other advertisements directed to children, and we don’t use personally identifiable student data for advertising or marketing purposes.
- We collect, process, and use student data in compliance with COPPA and FERPA.
- We believe in transparency and building trust with educators, schools, districts, and parents. ABCmouse is trusted and used by more than 65,000 classrooms throughout the U.S. (and growing). Our Privacy Policy is robust, clear, and reader-friendly because it is important that users understand our privacy practices. We regularly review our privacy policy to ensure that it is up-to-date and compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
- We are a signatory of the Student Privacy Pledge. Since 2014, the Student Privacy Pledge has been the national seal of approval for education technology privacy practices, with more than 300 companies signing on. Signing the pledge demonstrates our commitment through Age of Learning for Schools, Inc. to comply with the highest standards for safeguarding student data.
